Trade License
A )   Procedure for obtaining Trade License.

1.  An application in prescribed form (sold from KMC license counter for Rs.5/- each) is to be submitted U/S 199. Fees Rs.10/-.

2. Places of business. (a) If owned by petitioner, tax bill to be produced;
  (b) If a tenant, rent bill to be produced;
  (c) If a lessee, lease-deed to be produced;
  (d) If relative/person granted rent free accommodation by the premises owner, consent letter from the owner to be produced;
  (e) If a person is granted rent free accommodation by any bonafied tenant, consent letter along with the current CE of the tenant to be produces;
  (f) If a sub-tenant, consent of the premises owner will also to be produced along with documents viz. rent bill, current CE etc. of original tenant.
  (g) In case of unassessed premises a declaration/affidavit for non-assesseee in following proforma should be produced.
  (h) Besides License Department Officials may also issue CE on spot if any trade/profession/calling is carried out without obtaining trade license.

3.  In case of Companies / Private Limited Companies, the following documents to be produced along with the application :
  (i) Memorandum / Articles of Association;
  (ii) Declaration in Form No. 32;
  (iii) Form No. 18;

4.  In case of Partnership Firm, the Partnership deed to be produced.

B & C ) To conduct your business smoothly obtain a trade license. The K.M.C. has made the process simple by dividing various trades in two categories, Green and Red. Trades other than those mentioned in the list below will be deemed as Green Category,
Important features of obtaining license under Green category;

a. License will be issued immediately on the basis of the application along with supporting documents.
b. No prima-facie enquiry.
c. Enquiry will be made later.
d. If any information is found false license will be cancelled and penal measure will also be initiated.

5. Boarding / Lodging / Guest House Keeper (Non Food) 6. Boarding / Lodging / Guest House Keeper (With Food and A.C.)
7. Boarding / Lodging / Guest House Keeper (With Food and Non-A.C.) 8. Cafe
9. Casting of Metal 10. Ceremonial House
11. Company's Factory 12. Confectioner
13. Eating House Keeper 14. Engineering Workshop
15. Fast Food Centre 16. Fish / Meat / Fowl seller
17. Hotel Keeper 18. Garage ( With servicing unit )
19. Garage ( With Spray painting ) 20. Gold & Silver refinery
21. Guest house keeper ( with food & A.C ) 22. Guest house keeper ( with food & non A.C )
23. Health Resort 24. Hotel Keeper ( Non A.C.)
25. Hotel Keeper ( With A.C.) 26. Licensed Country Liquor Vendor
27. Licensed Foreign Liquor Vendor 28. Ganja / Opium etc.
29. Manufacturer (manually) of Goods 30. Manufacturer of Country Liquor

35. Restaurant Keeper (Non A.C.) 36. Restaurant Keeper (With A.C.)

39. Timber Merchant (With Saw Mill) 40. Video Games Owner
41. Wine merchant 42. Wine Seller (With Bar)
43. Wine Seller (Without Bar)    


Application for License for Trade under Red Category will be thoroughly enquired into and upon the recommendation of the Enquiry Officer the License will be granted.

Obtain a Trade License and conduct your business legally.

D)  For Renewal cases notice of demand for the current year ( 2003-2004 ) have been sent to the erstwhile traders who have already taken out their CE upto 2002-2003. Renewal of C.E. for the current year (2003-2004) is being done on payment of licence fees as applicable through the specified branches of S.B.I., B.O.I, HDFC and ICICI (ATM Counter only).
Renewal of CE with arrears more than one year i.e. beyond 2002-2003 - Licence fees are being received after

(i) Manually _ by bailiffs & Inspectors
OR
(ii) Through different Cash Counters of License Department.
on payment of Sectional Charges as applicable (Under Section. 199, 238(2), 307, 333, 419, 421, 435 (I & II), 436, 440 and PFA of K.M.C. Act of 1980. and processing fees.

A Late Fine of Rs.50 per month have been imposed for non-renewal of C.E. for the year 2003-2004 beyond 30.09.2003.

That I / we do not have any objection if The K.M.C. authority revokes / cancels / modifies the Certificate of Enlistment issued in my / our favour due to any legal complications arising out of determination of Assessee Numbers and / or Premises Numbers.
