are the different types of slum infrastructure
development works undertaken?
The role of the Bustee Cell is to facilitate:
a.
supply of adequate drinking
water by arranging for community tube-wells and community water taps.
b.
improvement
of the sewerage & drainage system
of the Bustees including conversion of kuchha surface
drain into under-ground pipe sewerage.
c.
improvement of existing
passage as well as construction of new passage including conversion
of kuchha passage into pucca road.
d.
construction of new community latrines
and repairing of existing community latrine.
e.
illumination of
slum lanes, by-lanes and passages by providing streetlight, mini pole
etc.

You can avail of the facilities by:
submitting a written complaint to local ward
officer or by
entering your complaint in the local ward office complaint

the complaint.

is the Swarna Jayanthi Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY)
Scheme?
The Swarna Jayanthi Shahari Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY) is an Urban Poverty Alleviation
Programme (UPAP) of the Government of India.

are the benefits available under this scheme?
a. Assistance to individuals for setting up gainful self
employment ventures
b.
Assistance to groups of urban women for
setting up gainful employment
c.
Training to beneficiaries for upgradation and acquisition
of vocational and entrepreneurial skills
9. How
would the assistance or training be made available
to me?
Assistance would be made available only on formation of groups. The Swarna
Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana has the following group based structure:
a.
Formation
of Neighborhood Groups by 10-40 BPL families.
b.
Formation of Neighborhood Committees
by 8 -15 Neighborhood groups.
c.
Formation of Community Development Society (CDS)
by 8-15 Neighborhood Committees.

Who can apply for
being a member of such groups?
a. Below Poverty Line individuals and/or
b.
People with educational qualification
less than Class IX, can apply.
Please note that women would be given priority.
At least 30% of the beneficiaries under these schemes shall be women.

How
do you define ‘Below Poverty Line’?
Families earning less than Rs. 313.12 per month per head are treated as ‘Below
poverty line’
